G!festival is not only about the concerts, but above all about the people! What you people who come here for the festival don't know, this very weekend is a source of pride for many locals every year. A topic of conversation. You don't know how much time the people here in Syðrugøta Italians dedicate, help and organise everything so that year after year the festival can take place.

I've lived here for 19 years and every year I see the same faces helping to build the scene. They look for accommodation, they look for people to help and it's all charitable and free. Hours of work but also time spent together, laughter. It is here that a community is built that is enviable or exemplary. How man to man is good, how everyone helps each other and plays to one basket.

What is it like?

It is an amazing feeling when you look at the festival through the face of Jon Tyril the founder of all this fuss. Eivor- the best singer in the Faroe Islands and also a resident of S.gotu. The last time she started speaking from the stage to her own - it was very moving. When Grandma Eivor herself appeared on the beach as the first fan the heart cannot go unnoticed. When the mayor greets everyone on the beach every year. When the neighbours on the beach work hard so that the festival can come to an end in peace and safety.

Great atmosphere created by the people

These jigsaw puzzles that are the people in a tiny village create one of the best images of our time, that it can, that it is possible, that it is wonderful to create such a close-knit community. I am glad that I was able to be part of the festival on many occasions. And I am even more looking forward to next years beach. This year we had guests from Sweden who flew in to hear Eivor. As expected after the concert, the singer had a moment to take a photo with her fans. Oh what a joy it was for us!

Finally...

This family atmosphere that is at the festival is contagious to everyone - children , young adults. A fantastic atmosphere that really lasts all year round. For some as a beautiful story, for others as preparation for the next season.
